Langeland festival cancelled over unpaid fees

Langeland Municipality has cancelled this year’s Langelandsfestival Revival after organisers failed to pay a required 150,000 kroner deposit by the 14 April deadline, DR reports.

The festival, scheduled for 19–23 August, had its venue lease terminated as a result. Mayor Jørgen Nielsen (K) said the contract’s payment terms were clear and non-negotiable.

Organiser Troels Hersom called the timing of the payment unreasonable, noting the event relied on volunteer efforts and ticket sales had not yet begun. He confirmed ticket holders would receive full refunds and expressed hope for a return next year.
