33 companies form Varandi vinnu

Thirty-three companies have formed the network “Varandi vinnu” under the Faroese Employers’ Association, reports KVF. The network aims to promote corporate social responsibility and improve working conditions in the Faroese labor market.

A new board was elected at the annual general meeting on Thursday. The board includes Gunnar Nielsen (Effo), Ingunn Eiriksdóttir (Betri trygging), Jenny A. í Heiðunum (Hotel Djurhuus), Jón H. Atlason (Hiddenfjord), Niels Winther (Vinnuhúsið), Sunnvard Andreasen (Articon), and Ulla Joensen (Elektron).

At the meeting, it was decided to merge “Varandi vinnu” and “Varandi vinnu-innleiðslu” to centralize efforts. The 33 companies in the network employ 6,036 people, representing 5,189 full-time equivalents, with 4,237 men and 2,152 women.
