Hotel KG to open 1 July

Hotel KG in Klaksvík will open its doors to the first paying guests on 1 July, according to a report by Faroese broadcaster KVF.

Preparations are in full swing to ensure the hotel is ready, said Johannes Jensen, manager at Gist & Vist, the company set to operate the property. A team of craftsmen and staff are working to finalise the details before the opening.

An official inauguration ceremony is planned for the days leading up to the launch, Jensen added.

Designed by Henning Larsen Architects, the hotel features 83 rooms, a café and bistro, a fine-dining restaurant seating 55, a banquet hall for approximately 300 guests, and a large wellness area.

The property is owned and built by Reiðaríið Christian í Grótinum, though the final cost of the project has not been disclosed. Gist & Vist has been contracted to manage the hotel.
