Results of Finland’s joint application for upper secondary education have been published, with 73,800 applicants receiving study places, according to a statement from the Finnish National Agency for Education (Opetushallitus) reported by Yle.

Applicants will receive two emails via the Opintopolku.fi service: a results letter and an acceptance link. The agency notes that messages may arrive as late as this evening. Study places must be accepted by 25 June 2026, either through the email link or via the Oma Opintopolku service.

Institutions may also require written acceptance or in-person registration. They will send their own admission decisions by post or email. The Opintopolku website urges applicants to accept places promptly. Applicants on waiting lists may still be admitted until mid-August.

In March, Opetushallitus reported over 84,000 applications for the joint intake, an increase of 2,000 from the previous year. Approximately 88,000 study places were available. Some municipalities, including Helsinki, Tampere, and Turku, have published their upper secondary school admission thresholds.
