Preliminary results from test drillings conducted in May suggest the Faroe Islands can store CO2 underground, according to Faroese public broadcaster KVF.

The Decarp Faroe project, involving international researchers and experts, aims to assess whether CO2 can be stored in the Faroese subsurface instead of being released into the atmosphere.

PhD student Rakul Maria Johannesen is working on the project.
