man in his 50s stabbed in neck, escapes via balcony

A man in his 50s was stabbed multiple times, including a 9 cm cut across his neck near the carotid artery, before escaping by climbing over a balcony and falling onto a neighbour’s terrace in Strømmen, Lillestrøm, on 19 July 2025, Dagbladet reports.

Police arrested a man in his 40s hours later. He has now been charged under penal code section 275 for attempted murder. The accused denies criminal liability, according to his defence lawyer, Heidi Juritzen.

The victim’s legal representative, Lene Tønset, confirmed the two men were acquaintances and described the aftermath as a difficult period for her client, who remains affected by the incident. She added that while the trial will be a strain, they look forward to the case being heard in court.
