The Finnish Border Guard’s Gulf of Finland district has completed its preliminary investigation into a suspected airspace violation by a Russian state aircraft on May 27, Yle reports.

According to the coast guard, a Russian Ilyushin Il-18 turboprop entered Finnish airspace for two minutes while en route from mainland Russia to Kaliningrad. The incursion occurred over the sea between the municipalities of Inkoo and Raasepori.

Investigators noted that a weather front over the Gulf of Finland at the time may have contributed to the violation. The case has been forwarded to prosecutors for further action.
