Faroese hostels at 96% occupancy in April

Hostels in Tórshavn reached 95.8% occupancy in April, down from full capacity in March, according to new figures from Hagstova Føroya, the Faroese statistics agency.
The peak occupancy rate was recorded in March 2022 at 153.2%, reflecting overbooking during that period. Hotels in the capital saw 88.8% occupancy in April, compared to 73.9% in March. January 2022 remains the only month on record with 100% hotel occupancy.
Eleven people used emergency shelters in April due to lack of alternative accommodation.
