Faroese health union and municipal employers await mediator’s proposal

The Faroese Health Workers’ Union and the Municipal Employers’ Association (KAF) will meet with mediator Terja Sigurðsson on Tuesday, though neither side knows what proposal will be presented, Faroese public broadcaster KVF reports.

Both union chair Mary Antonsdóttir and KAF head Per Martin Gregersen said they had no advance knowledge of the mediator’s plans. On Wednesday, each party rejected an earlier draft proposal, but Gregersen told KVF he expects the mediator to have developed a new basis for agreement.

The dispute follows failed negotiations over a two-year collective bargaining agreement for health sector workers.
