The Faroese oil company Krafta has denied any liability for an oil ring observed at the Sund power plant, stating it only facilitated contact between the plant’s operator SEV and the supplier, a company spokesperson told public broadcaster Kringvarp Føroya (KVF).
Rói Kalsø, managing director of Krafta, declined an interview but confirmed in a statement that the company had merely acted as an intermediary in the transaction. He described the oil delivery as “a matter between SEV and the supplier.”
The incident was first reported by KVF on Saturday evening. The oil ring’s origin and environmental impact remain unclear.
