Finnish MP Harry Harkimo was re-elected as chair of the Movement Now party during its conference in Helsinki on Saturday, the party announced in a statement.

Petteri Summanen, an entrepreneur and master of arts, was elected first vice chair and will run in the next parliamentary elections for the Uusimaa constituency. Heidi Sukari, an entrepreneur and chair of the Turku Women Entrepreneurs association, was named second vice chair and will stand as a candidate in the Southwest Finland constituency. Mika Tunturi was elected chair of the party council.

In his speech, Harkimo criticised Finland’s lack of long-term planning, stating the country “lacks a CEO” while other parties fail to acknowledge the “catastrophe” in public finances. “Only Movement Now has openly presented over €8 billion in savings measures and effective ways to grow the economy,” he said, adding that cuts alone would not suffice.

Harkimo emphasised the need to boost business investment, job creation, and wage growth, noting that public spending demands—such as the defence forces’ future requirements—remain unmet.
