Around 20 stolen ride-on lawnmowers dumped at Lahti apartment block

Police in Lahti are investigating after roughly 20 stolen ride-on lawnmowers were abandoned in the courtyard of a residential building on Vihdinkatu, Yle reports.

The machines were taken from a fenced business yard on Saksalankatu in the Anttilanmäki district between Wednesday night and Thursday morning. Authorities suspect the theft occurred during the first week of June.

Häme Police have classified the case as aggravated theft but note the charge may be adjusted as the investigation progresses. Officers are now working to determine where the lawnmowers were moved after being left at the apartment complex.

Businesses and residents in the area are urged to check surveillance footage and provide any relevant recordings to police.
