King Frederik and Queen Mary docked in Holbæk on Thursday as part of their annual summer tour, Danish broadcaster DR reports. The royal couple arrived aboard the royal yacht Dannebrog at Ny Havn, where they were greeted by Holbæk mayor Christina Krzyrosiak Hansen.
The visit marks the third stop on this year’s tour, following visits to Odense on Monday and Norddjurs Municipality on Tuesday. On Wednesday, the king briefly returned to Amalienborg Palace in Copenhagen to receive the newly appointed government.
In Holbæk, the royal couple will take a carriage ride through the city center before visiting the Nyvang Experience Centre, which showcases daily life in a small Danish village in the early 1900s. Their arrival was accompanied by a live performance of Otto Brandenburg’s song Susanne, Birgitte og Hanne.
