Finland’s defence forces flag day parade broadcast live at 11:55

Finland is marking its annual defence forces flag day today, with a military parade in Raseborg being broadcast live by public broadcaster Yle across its online, radio, and television platforms.

The parade inspection will take place at Tammisaari football stadium, where Rear Admiral Tuomas Tiilikainen, commander of the Finnish Navy, will receive the troops. Yle’s live coverage of the inspection begins at 11:55 and runs until 12:25 on yle.fi and the Areena streaming service, with commentary by Heikki Ali-Hokka and analysis from Commander Jenni Laitala of the Naval Academy.

A separate broadcast of the parade’s march-past will air on Yle TV1 and online from 13:15 to 13:45, with radio coverage on Yle Radio Suomi, presented by Aki Laine. A compiled highlights programme will be shown later on Yle TV1 and Areena from 17:10 to 18:00.
