Bear spotted in central Kitee, police warn public to avoid the area

A bear has been seen moving through the centre of Kitee, prompting police to issue a hazard warning and advise residents to stay clear of the area, Finnish public broadcaster Yle reports.

Authorities are actively working to drive the animal away after the sighting was reported at around 11 a.m. local time.
