A swan cygnet and an adult swan have died following an incident in Lillesand, Norway, prompting outrage from local authorities. Rune Blix, the head of the Wildlife Committee in Lillesand, condemned the action, labeling it as animal cruelty.
The police have seized the swans as evidence and have launched an investigation into the matter. It is reported that a group of young boys fired air rifles at the swans from a boat in Bjorviga, Lillesand.
The situation came to light when a cabin owner in the area alerted the police after witnessing the boys shooting at the swans. Despite the report, the police have not yet been able to contact the suspects involved in the incident.
This incident raises serious concerns about wildlife protection and the need for harsher penalties against acts of animal cruelty.
