A major fire broke out in a detached house in Espoo’s Viherlaakso district on Wednesday afternoon, with thick smoke spreading across the area before crews brought the blaze under control, Länsi-Uudenmaa emergency services reported.

The fire, first reported just before 12:30 local time, began in the roof of the single-family home on Tuokkoskuja street. The roof later collapsed, and the house sustained severe damage, though authorities confirmed no injuries and no risk of the fire spreading to surrounding properties.

More than ten emergency response units were deployed to the scene. A public hazard warning issued during the incident has since been lifted.
