The Faroese Academics Union has finalised a new wage agreement with the Ministry of Finance’s wage division, securing a 3.87% pay increase for its members, the union announced Tuesday.

The deal mirrors the terms of a broader public-sector wage settlement reached in February between the ministry and 12 other unions, covering the period from 1 October 2025 to 30 September 2026. Beyond the 3.87% rise, the agreement includes minor additional adjustments, according to a statement from the union.

Union chair Arni Petersen confirmed the new contract replaces the previous agreement, which expired on 1 October last year. Negotiations for a further deal—effective from 1 October this year—are expected to begin shortly.
