A Helsinki café owner has promised free coffee and pastries to the fan who left behind a pile of curly hair after shaving their head during Finland’s ice hockey world championship victory celebrations, Yle reports.
Mikko Leisti, owner of Marga Café near Market Square, posted a video on social media showing tufts of light brown curls found outside his establishment. He joked that while coffee and buns would be available for more than one newly bald customer, he hoped not all of Finland’s shorn fans would turn up at once.
The café survived Sunday’s celebrations largely intact, though Leisti noted broken glass and damaged flower planters. “The building itself held up surprisingly well,” he said, adding that a full structural assessment was still pending.
Market Square required extensive cleanup Monday morning after thousands gathered to celebrate Finland’s gold medal win, with revelers climbing onto the Havis Amanda statue and leaving behind debris.
