Dánjal Samuelsen appointed director of Faroese public ferry operator

Dánjal Samuelsen has been named the new director of Strandfaraskip Landsins, the Faroe Islands’ state-run ferry service, national broadcaster KVF reported Monday.
Transport Minister Jacob Vestergaard selected Samuelsen for the role after a recruitment process that drew 13 applicants. Samuelsen, 57, has worked at the ferry operator for six years, most recently as acting director for the past six months. He previously served as a traffic planner and route coordinator.
A graduate in business administration from Copenhagen Business School, Samuelsen also holds degrees in history and ethnology from the University of the Faroe Islands and the University of Copenhagen.
