Two tourists arrested on Friday have each been fined 50,000 Faroese krona for illegal entry and immediately deported, police confirmed to Faroese broadcaster KVF on Monday.

Both men—one a British national, the other Polish—had previously been banned from the Faroe Islands. They are now prohibited from returning for two years. Authorities stated that one of the men had not yet physically entered the Faroes when he was detained.

In a separate incident, two other men who crossed a cordon linked to the Streymnes whale killing were each fined 1,000 krona. They accepted the penalty, though their identities remain undisclosed.
