Swedish public broadcaster SVT opened a live chat on Sunday for viewers to share public tributes to their mothers on Mother’s Day, inviting participants to post messages honoring what they love most about them.

The interactive feature, which requires JavaScript to update in real time, began collecting submissions early Sunday morning. One of the first posted messages read, “Grattis hooyo på din dag, idag så ska vi fira dig enormt! Älskar dig otroligt mycket. /Din kära dotter” (“Congratulations, Mom, on your day—today we’ll celebrate you enormously! Love you incredibly much. /Your dear daughter”).

SVT also published video segments tied to the occasion, including children’s recorded greetings and a piece featuring a man named David discussing his approach to the holiday: “I think it’s important—but she doesn’t.”

The broadcaster’s coverage aligns with its editorial standards of factual reporting and impartiality, with a note that unconfirmed details in breaking news would be clearly labeled as such.
