The Faroese Roads Authority has opened tenders for renovations to the pedestrian bridge along the main road in Gøtugjógv, with work set to finish by the end of October, Kringvarp Føroya reports.

Sections of the existing bridge will be removed and replaced, including new railings and an expanded waiting area near the school crossing. The bridge deck will also be narrowed from two metres to 1.5 metres, while bus stops and small islands in the roadway will be rebuilt. One of the existing islands will be removed entirely.

Bids for the contract must be submitted by 15 June.
