Center party leader describes near-death diving incident as “very unpleasant”

Center Party leader Elisabeth Thand Ringqvist revealed in an interview with public broadcaster SVT’s *Fördomsshowen* that she once nearly died during a dive when her partner mishandled the oxygen tanks.

“It was very unpleasant,” she said of the incident, which occurred while diving with someone who “didn’t really have control” of the equipment.

Thand Ringqvist, who described herself as a thrill-seeker, cited her most reckless act as skiing steep off-piste terrain in the Alps. “I don’t really have a mainstream personality,” she told the programme. “I’ve been the musician, the adventurer, the one who chooses unusual things. That’s what has defined me.”
