Faroese priest to deliver Ólavsøka sermon in Tórshavn

The bishop of the Faroe Islands has announced that Jonhard Jógvansson, the senior priest in Eiði parish, will deliver this year’s Ólavsøka sermon at Tórshavn Cathedral, according to a report by Faroese national broadcaster KVF.

Jógvansson, the oldest among the younger generation of active priests in the Faroese national church, was ordained in Helsingør Cathedral on 13 May 2018. A year later, he was appointed parish priest of Eiði, where he continues to serve.
