Man arrested in Maalahti after threats and violence with firearm

A man was arrested early Wednesday in Maalahti, western Finland, after allegedly threatening occupants of a private residence with a firearm and committing acts of violence, police reported.

Authorities responded to a call at approximately 3 a.m. in the Petolahti area, where the suspect had reportedly directed violence toward others in the home and brandished a gun. The man was detained at the scene.

Police are investigating the incident as domestic violence, with preliminary charges including attempted homicide, firearms offenses, and reckless handling of a weapon.
