Finnish healthcare provider Terveystalo will lay off 85 employees and temporarily furlough hundreds more, the company announced Wednesday after concluding collective bargaining talks.

In addition to the permanent layoffs, 34 workers will be placed on indefinite unpaid leave, while another 389 will face two-week furloughs at some point in 2026, according to a company statement. The negotiations, which began in April, involved roughly 4,400 employees.

Terveystalo attributed the cuts to an “exceptionally weak” healthcare services market and declining demand.
