The Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority (KKV) will announce details of a nationwide cartel operating in a sector familiar to consumers, according to a brief report by Finnish public broadcaster Yle.

The cartel was uncovered during the authority’s own investigation, which has led to proposed financial penalties for multiple companies involved. KKV has not disclosed the specific industry affected.

Authority director general Kirsi Leivo and head of investigations Pekka Mattila are scheduled to present the findings at a media briefing later today.
