Queen Mary acknowledges hospitalisation casts shadow over Royal Run event

Queen Mary of Denmark said Monday that Queen Margrethe’s hospitalisation has “put a slight damper on the day,” though she stressed that the situation is unfolding as planned, according to Danish broadcaster DR.

Speaking ahead of her participation in the Royal Run charity race, Queen Mary confirmed that Margrethe remains hospitalised at Copenhagen’s Rigshospitalet for treatment of a significant haematoma in her hip region, the result of a prior fall. The queen is expected to remain under observation for several days.
