Danish authorities permit limited wolf hunting near Oksbøl

Four private landowners in western Denmark have received official permission to shoot wolves near Oksbøl, state broadcaster DR reports.

The permits, issued under strict conditions, allow the hunters—who must hold valid hunting licenses—to kill wolves only if the animals approach within 30 meters of land they own or lease. Shooting is permitted only if the wolf does not flee upon seeing a human.

The move follows a recent court ruling against a farmer, identified only as Mourits, who was convicted for illegally killing a wolf.
