Danish police have tied a suspicious incident at Herning railway station to the wider conflict in the Herning area, according to an update from Midt- og Vestjyllands Police.

The episode prompted authorities to cordon off the station and detain a train approaching the platform. Police later confirmed the train had been moved, allowing investigations to continue without further disruption to rail services.

The incident follows the introduction of stop-and-search zones in Herning and Ikast earlier this week, after multiple shootings, arson attacks, and the discovery of a hand grenade. Police have increased patrols in both towns and urged residents to report any unusual activity.

“Members of the public may move freely, but we ask them to remain alert to anything out of the ordinary and contact police on 114 if they observe suspicious behaviour,” the statement read.
