Police cordon off Herning railway station after suspicious incident
Police have cordoned off Herning railway station, blocking passengers from travelling to and from the station. Midt- og Vestjyllands Police said in a statement on Politi Update that it was dealing with a suspicious circumstance, without elaborating, according to Danish broadcaster DR.
A DR reporter at the scene said a man in a forensic suit was led out of the station. Around ten police cars were present, and multiple officers were seen carrying machine pistols. Many passengers were stranded at the station.
Police told waiting passengers that the station would remain closed for several hours. Several trains have been cancelled, and replacement buses have been deployed on a number of routes, according to GoCollective’s website.
