Nets outage leaves Danes stranded at home and abroad
A widespread outage at the payment processor Nets disrupted card transactions on Thursday, leaving Danish travellers and residents unable to pay for services, the Danish public broadcaster DR reported.
The technical issue, which was resolved around 2 p.m., caused problems across a range of situations, according to DR. One Dane was unable to collect a car, a group of travellers on a gap year could not pay for dinner in Tokyo, and a couple struggled to settle their rental car bill while on holiday in France.
DR noted that the company fixed the fault by mid-afternoon and continued to cover the story in a live blog.
