Police locate missing explosive in Riihimäki

Police in Riihimäki have found an explosive device that disappeared from its original location. The device was recovered near the original discovery site, according to Finnish broadcaster Yle.

Officers have cordoned off the area and submitted a request for assistance to the Finnish Defence Forces to render the explosive safe. The clearance operation is scheduled to take place later today.

A related danger warning has been cancelled. Information on the ongoing preliminary investigation will be released separately.
