Andes hantavirus added to Faroe Islands list of dangerous diseases
The Faroe Islands have added Andes hantavirus to the official list of publicly dangerous diseases, the Health and Energy Ministry confirmed in a statement reported by Kringvarp Føroya.
The move is intended to ensure that the disease falls under the provisions of the epidemic law, the ministry said. A draft decree on Andes hantavirus has been prepared, with a consultation deadline of May 27, as the ministry stressed the need to bring the decree into force quickly.
Thirteen diseases are now on the list of publicly dangerous diseases in the Faroe Islands.
