Extended application period for Kajaani city manager brings 21 new applicants

The extended application period for Kajaani’s city manager position has ended, drawing 21 new applicants and bringing the total number of candidates to 57, Yle reports.

The city decided to prolong the search after receiving 38 applications in the initial round held in February and March, and after interviewing seven of those candidates. Two applicants from the first round later withdrew their candidacies.

The interview group concluded that the recruitment process needed more candidates and proposed the extension, which ran from 22 April to 20 May. The city said it would also consider applications submitted during the first round.

The new city manager is expected to take up the post at the beginning of September or as agreed.
