No compensation for 47 Scandinavian Star victims and relatives in lawsuit against maritime authority
A Danish court has rejected compensation claims from 47 relatives and victims of the 1990 Scandinavian Star ferry fire who had sued the Danish Maritime Authority. The plaintiffs, including Hanne Lind Nielsen who was aboard the ferry with her husband, sought a ruling on whether the authority bore responsibility for failing to carry out a port state control inspection of the vessel. Each plaintiff had demanded 450,000 kroner in damages.
