Finnish state-owned logistics group VR has concluded its restructuring negotiations, with up to 88 employees set to lose their jobs, according to a report by Yle.

VR said the final number of redundancies could still fall, depending on retirements and internal transfers to other roles within the company. The negotiations covered the company’s logistics operations and maintenance activities. When the talks were launched, up to 110 positions were reported to be at risk.

The company also announced that train drivers will face temporary layoffs due to a reduction in work, with each affected employee laid off for a maximum of 90 days.

Approximately 1,400 employees were covered by the scope of the negotiations.
