Norwegian broadcasters NRK and TV 2 have unveiled their plans for this year’s Constitution Day celebrations, with hosts sharing their dream guests and post-show traditions, Dagbladet reports.

Desta Marie Beeder, host of TV 2’s five-hour live broadcast God morgen Norge, called it an “honour” to kick off Norway’s national day with viewers. The show will feature a mix of music, food, and guests, including performances by the Sølvguttene choir, relay runners, actress Else Kåss Furuseth, and singer Amanda Delara.

When asked about her ideal guest, Beeder named King Harald—though she acknowledged his schedule would likely prevent a visit. “He’s welcome anytime,” she said. After the broadcast, she plans to celebrate with former Skal vi danse co-star Halvor Bakke.

At NRK, Olav Viksmo Slettan will co-host the national broadcast with Nadia Hasnaoui and Kashayar Afshar, marking his first time commentating on Oslo’s children’s parade. “I’ll have 30,000 dream guests from 120 Oslo schools,” he said, calling the event a highlight. After work, he’ll join family and neighbours—hoping for minimal birch pollen, given his allergies.

Both broadcasters emphasized the joy of working on May 17, with Slettan noting past celebrations at European embassies during his years covering Eurovision.
