Jyväskylä, rail disruption, traffic incident

A passenger car partially blocking a railway track caused delays to train services in Jyväskylä on Monday afternoon, according to a report by Finnish public broadcaster Yle.

Emergency services removed the vehicle from track one at Jyväskylä station shortly after 4 pm local time. The obstruction had disrupted rail traffic for approximately 30 minutes, Central Finland Rescue Services confirmed.

No occupants were found inside the car, and authorities have not yet determined how the vehicle ended up on the tracks. Police were also present at the scene, Yle reported.

As a result of the incident, at least one Helsinki-bound train was redirected to depart from track two instead of the primary track. Track one is the main route for most passenger services passing through Jyväskylä station.
