Sweden announces decision on new frigate purchase

Sweden’s government will reveal its choice of supplier for a multi-billion-kronor frigate procurement deal at a press conference on Tuesday, public broadcaster SVT reports.

Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson, Defence Minister Pål Jonson, and Supreme Commander Micael Bydén will announce the decision aboard a Visby-class corvette. While no contract is expected to be signed immediately, authorities will disclose which manufacturer Sweden will enter negotiations with for the high-value defence acquisition.
