A man in his early 20s has been arrested in Skien, Norway, and charged with sexual offences against two children under 16 during the country’s Constitution Day celebrations, Telemarksavisa reports.

Police received notification of the incident shortly before 7:30 PM on Sunday, May 17. The suspect, who has no prior criminal record, is accused of engaging in sexual activity with a child aged 14–16 and sexually offensive behaviour toward a second child under 16. The two victims are separate individuals, according to police prosecutor Victoria Kaasa Vikstøl of the South-Eastern Police District.

The alleged offences occurred at the site of the former Meierigården dairy in central Skien. Forensic investigators examined a narrow cavity between two stone walls at the location, which has since been cordoned off. The suspect remains in custody while authorities assess whether to pursue pre-trial detention.

Defence attorney Heidi Ysen, representing the accused, confirmed she was conducting an interview with her client but declined to comment further.
