Five men were stabbed in two unrelated incidents in Aarhus overnight, with a 25-year-old man declared dead, Danish broadcaster DR reports.

Police in the Østjylland region are investigating both cases but currently see no connection between them. The first attack occurred in Tilst at 00:12 local time, where three men were stabbed—including the 25-year-old, who later died at Aarhus University Hospital. Two others were hospitalised in non-critical condition.

Three men have been arrested in connection with the Tilst incident. “Our investigation suggests that a group had arranged to meet in Tilst, which led to the death of the 25-year-old and two others being stabbed,” said Anders Uhrskov, police inspector at Østjyllands Politi. Authorities have not yet decided whether the suspects will face custody hearings or charges for the fatal stabbing. The victim’s next of kin have been notified.

A second stabbing took place hours later in Bispehaven, a western Aarhus neighbourhood near Tilst. Two men, aged 22 and 25, were attacked—one left in critical condition. Police have made no arrests in this case but will conduct interviews and forensic work at both crime scenes.

Uhrskov confirmed investigators see no link between the two incidents. “At this stage, we have found no connection between the individuals involved, the locations, or the suspected motives,” he stated.
