Preparations are in full swing in Aarhus for a large-scale victory celebration after AGF Football Club secured its first Danish Superliga title in 40 years, *DR* reports.
Around 55,000 tickets have been sold for Sunday’s events, including screenings at Tivoli Friheden and Tangkrogen, as well as the final match against Viborg FF at Ceres Park. Organisers are racing to set up 1.2 kilometres of fencing, giant screens, tents, bars, toilets, and a stage at Tangkrogen, where 30,000 fans are expected to gather.
Event coordinator Lasse Ø. Pedersen of Smuk Event, responsible for the Tangkrogen celebration, described the effort as “a bit of a crazy project.” Planning only began in earnest after the championship was confirmed last Sunday, leaving little time to organise.
“We’ve been extremely busy since Tuesday afternoon, when we got the final go-ahead,” Pedersen said.
The celebration will feature live performances by Zar Paulo, Saint Clara, and Roya. AGF players have also promised to appear with the championship trophy at both Tangkrogen and Tivoli Friheden. Organisers have secured large quantities of Ceres Top beer, a local favourite, for the event.
Cleanup must be completed by 7 AM Monday, though celebrations will continue that afternoon when players and the trophy visit Aarhus City Hall for further tributes.
