Faroe Islands hotels reach full occupancy in March

Hotels in the Faroe Islands recorded 100 percent occupancy in March, according to the latest figures from the national statistics office Hagstovan, as reported by Faroese broadcaster Kringvarp Føroya.

Occupancy rates varied across accommodation types. Guesthouses saw 72.9 percent occupancy in March, while no March data was available for the women’s shelter, which had 38.1 percent occupancy in February. The former refugee reception centre, last operational in 2024, reported 19.9 percent occupancy in December 2024.

In March 2022, hotel occupancy had peaked at 153.2 percent, indicating overbooking or shared rooms.
