Danish and Polish forces test long-range missiles in Baltic Shield exercise
The Danish and Polish militaries have launched live missiles and new rocket artillery systems during the Baltic Shield exercise on the island of Bornholm, Danish broadcaster DR reports.
Over 1,000 soldiers from both nations are participating in the drill, which includes test-firing Denmark’s newly acquired Elbit rocket launchers and Poland’s HIMARS systems. The weapons, with ranges of several hundred kilometres, have engaged targets in the Baltic Sea with both practice and live munitions.
Officials describe Baltic Shield as the largest military exercise on Bornholm in recent years, aimed at bolstering regional defence and deterrence in the Baltic Sea area.
