Electric car wheels too heavy for owners to change themselves

Many electric vehicle (EV) owners are no longer changing their own tyres between winter and summer, as the wheels have become too large and heavy to handle alone, reports Danish news outlet DR.

EV wheels now often weigh over 20 kilograms, making seasonal tyre changes difficult for individuals. As a result, more owners are relying on workshops to perform the work, including storage at “tyre hotels” such as Oles Autoteknik in Holstebro.

The increased weight of EV wheels is linked to the heavier overall mass of electric cars compared to conventional vehicles.
