Police in Aarhus are bracing for even bigger celebrations on Sunday after around 50,000 people took to the streets to mark AGF’s Superliga football championship win, DR reports.

The final league match takes place this Sunday, though the result will not affect the overall standings. Despite this, authorities expect an even larger turnout.

“Based on the events we know of so far, we’re preparing for a very busy day with many happy people—both in the city centre, Vejlby-Risskov, and around Tivoli Friheden,” said Brian Voss Olsen, police inspector with Østjyllands Politi.

Dialogue officers and mobile response units will be deployed to assist crowds. While police anticipate a lively atmosphere, they warned against destructive behaviour.

“We’ll allow high spirits, but we won’t tolerate anyone burning down the city,” Voss Olsen stated.
