A planned day off turned into a busy Monday for Gusto pizzeria in Aarhus after the city’s football club, AGF, won Denmark’s Superliga title, Danish broadcaster DR reports.

The pizzeria’s co-owner, Nikolaj Engell-Hansen, had joined Sunday night’s celebrations in the city centre after AGF’s victory. As a joke, he messaged defender Felix Beijmo inviting the team for pizza. To his surprise, the players took him up on the offer the following day.

“We were supposed to close to give the staff a break after a long night, but then they actually showed up,” Engell-Hansen told DR. “It was pretty special—we were a little starstruck.”

The team’s favourite was the Nduja pizza, topped with spicy spreadable salami and cheese, while the pizzeria’s menu for the players included unlimited pizza, bread, and cheese. In return, the staff received a team jersey signed by all the players—a keepsake Engell-Hansen plans to frame.

“That one’s definitely going in a glass case,” he said.
