Many Danish homebuyers are encountering difficulties due to a lack of transparency when apartments are advertised on social media, according to a report by national broadcaster DR.

Nina Erdmann Buus found her dream apartment on Instagram but described the purchasing process as frustrating due to missing information. She argues that social media sales make property transactions less transparent than they should be.

The trend is particularly common in major cities, where a growing number of apartments are listed on platforms like Instagram and TikTok. However, these posts often omit key details, according to the Danish Consumer Council (Forbrugerrådet TÆNK), which is calling for mandatory minimum disclosure requirements.

The Danish Association of Estate Agents (Dansk Ejendomsmæglerforening) has also expressed support for clearer regulations.
